Our Community


In the Noongar culture, which is that of the Aboriginal peoples who live in the south-west corner of Western Australia, it is respectful to formally wanjoo (welcome) people to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander country or land. At Metisphere we do this with the following acknowledgement:

We acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation as the traditional custodians of this country and its waters, and that Metisphere stands on Noongar country. Metisphere also acknowledges the Traditional Custodians and their Ancestors of the lands and waters across Australia where we conduct our business. We honor their wisdom, cultures, languages and pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging. 

Our commitment to Indigenous professional development

We recognise and respect the unique culture and contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people bring to our communities and organisations. We are proud to provide advisory services to Indigenous organisations and are privileged with the opportunity we have to provide individual coaching and mentoring to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders aimed at directly and positively influencing their employee experience.

Our Community Spirit

As organisational psychologists and organisational development specialists we do a lot of work around measuring and designing programs based around the elements of organisational support theory which is primarily concerned with the extent to which organisations value employee’s contributions and care about their wellbeing.

It follows that we also have a strong sense of purpose and care deeply about the issues of social justice and view corporate responsibility and the associated societal change as an imperative in today’s world. We wish to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate and are currently wanting to play a larger part in the community with partnerships aligned to our business values and local community needs.

To demonstrate that we take corporate social responsibility seriously, our community and social responsibility philosophy was designed to create the space and opportunity for our employees to  have a social impact in a more structured way. At Metisphere our team is encouraged to lend their voluntary support to programs, organisations or community groups that positively impact the quality of life within communities. We have also explored charitable giving, donation matching, donation via payroll deduction and dedicated volunteer days.
